RIIZE Wonbin Says It’s Burdensome to Use His Real Name as His Stage Name, but He Has Confidence
RIIZE’s Wonbin shares how using his real name feels burdensome but expresses confidence in his activities.
On September 4th, SM Entertainment held a showcase for the debut of the rookie boy group RIIZE and the release of their first single, “Get A Guitar.”
The MC for the event, Leeteuk, asked member Wonbin if Wonbin was his real name and if he felt burdened by having the same name as A-list actor Won Bin.
Wonbin replied, “I also have some concerns about my real name, but since my parents gave it to me with love, I want to have confidence and work hard.” To this, Leeteuk playfully suggested, “Wouldn’t it be nice if you filmed a challenge together with actor Won Bin?”
RIIZE, added the English words ‘Rise’ and ‘Realize’ to their group name, meaning ‘growing together and realizing dreams as a team.’ The group consists of seven members, Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee, and Anton.
RIIZE’s first single, “Get A Guitar,” will be released on various music sites such as Melon, Spotify, and QQ Music at 6 p.m. KST on September 4th, and the music video for the title track will be released simultaneously on YouTube’s SM Town channel.
This album was produced with the theme of the time the members spent together preparing for their debut. It includes the inspirational song “Get A Guitar” and the song “Memories”. It is expected to receive explosive response from global fans as the album opens the curtain on RIIZE’s unique genre, Emotional Pop.
In addition, the title track “Get A Guitar” is a song with a retro synthesizer and funky guitar rhythm. The lyrics depict the members coming together in one place to understand and empathize with each other through music and become a team while conveying the message of pursuing shining dreams.
On September 4th, at 7 p.m. KST, RIIZE will release the “RIIZE Introduction Film” on their YouTube channel, and at 8 p.m. KST, they will hold “Rising Day: RIIZE Premiere” at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, officially kicking off their debut promotions.
