Joining JYP

In 2010, Nayeon secretly left her family to audition for the Open Audition 7th program. This program was organized by JYP to search for new musical talents for the company. After her successful performance, Nayeon gained attention and officially became a JYP trainee in September of that year.

In 2023, the East Seoul District Court ruled against Mr. A (whose identity was concealed) in a lawsuit over money borrowed by Nayeon’s family. According to court records, A had transferred over 500 million won to Nayeon’s family over 12 years. Additionally, Nayeon and her mother used a credit card under A’s name to pay off more than 100 million won over 6 years from March 2009 to October 2015.
