With Lee Sun Kyun‘s passing, the whole investigation into the actor’s alleged drug use is now being closed.
The news of actor Lee Sun Kyun’s apparent suicide is hitting hard in the media and among the public. They found his body inside a sealed car with a charcoal burner at Waryong Park, Jongno, Seoul. The funeral’s taking place privately at Seoul National University Hospital, just family and close friends invited.
After Lee Sun Kyun passed away, the police came forward saying they won’t be filing any charges and are wrapping up the investigation into his supposed drug use. They also shut down the rumor about a forced confession where Lee Sun Kyun was supposedly pushed to the point of seeking an exit: “No coercion happened during the investigation. Lee Sun Kyun always had two attorneys with him during the three rounds of questioning. All that data’s still on CCTV.“
Lee Sun Kyun sat down with the police three times, on October 28, November 4, and December 24. On January 24, he went to the police station and only made it home after a hefty 19 hours of questioning. Thorough tests showed Lee Sun Kyun was clean – no drugs. And in his final Q&A with the police, he even asked them to use a lie detector.
At 10:12 AM today (Korean time), the police get a call from actress Jeon Hye Jin: “My husband left the house after leaving a note that looked like a will.” Then Lee Sun Kyun’s body was found in a car at Wanryong Park, Jongno, Seoul. Friends said Lee Sun Kyun was showing signs of being mentally suffering, constantly on edge and hitting rock bottom right before he passed.
