Park Seo-joon, the icon of diligence, showcased his class

On the July 19th broadcast of tvN’s “Jinny’s Kitchen 2” (directed by Na Young-seok and Park Hyun-yong), Park Seo-joon, who took over as the main chef from Jung Yu-mi on the third day of operations, showed remarkable performance in the kitchen.

The fourth episode recorded an average viewership rating of 9.0% in the Seoul metropolitan area, peaking at 11.8%, maintaining its position as the top show in its time slot for four consecutive weeks across all channels, including terrestrial TV. Nationally, it averaged 8.2% with a peak of 10.6%, ranking first in its time slot among cable and general programming channels. Among tvN’s target demographic of men and women aged 20~49, it achieved a metropolitan area average rating of 3.6%, peaking at 4.7%, and a national average of 3.7%, peaking at 4.8%, securing the top spot in its time slot across all channels for the fourth consecutive episode (based on Nielsen Korea data for cable, IPTV and satellite integrated paid platforms).

The episode continued the story of the second day of operations at Jinny’s Kitchen. Jung Yu-mi and Go Min-si’s warm chemistry provided healing moments. Jung Yu-mi took care of Go Min-si by changing her gloves and advising her to add more rice to the less spicy dolsot bibimbap (Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap), showing her seniority. Go Min-si, in turn, checked the cooking status and prepared the next steps in advance.

Particularly, Go Min-si, who was more relaxed than the first day, credited her composure to Jung Yu-mi’s stable leadership in the kitchen. The moment Go Min-si imitated the performance of Choi Woo-sik, who had been flustered by the influx of orders on the first day, Choi Woo-sik entered the kitchen. When Choi Woo-sik sensed something suspicious and asked “Who bad-mouthed me?“, Jung Yu-mi and Go Min-si deflected his attention with laughter.

On the third day of operations, which fell on a Saturday, Park Seo-joon took over as the main chef and introduced a new menu item, dakgalbi (Spicy Stir-fried Chicken), for dinner. A large number of customers soon filled the hall, and a waiting list was also closed quickly. Lee Seo-jin, Jung Yu-mi and Choi Woo-sik busily handled orders, drink preparations and serving.

In the kitchen, Park Seo-joon and Go Min-si exhibited perfect teamwork. Park Seo-joon impressed everyone with his efficiency, using a special technique of stir-frying green onions in the sogalbijjim (Braised Beef) sauce and minimizing movements while assembling ingredients for the dolsot bibimbap. Despite the restaurant being full and the waiting list long, Park Seo-joon remained calm, swiftly moving earthen pots between burners with varying heat levels to complete the dishes quickly.

Meanwhile, Go Min-si observed Park Seo-joon while mixing rice for the dolsot bibimbap and provided thoughtful support, from setting up ladles and bowls to managing fried items, earning a satisfied smile from Park Seo-joon. Park Seo-joon even suggested “Shall we stay for another week and make a lot of money?“, recognizing Go Min-si as a promising “work-efficient rookie”.

Towards the end of the broadcast, a table was discovered to be dining even before the food was prepared, leading to chaos in Jinny’s Kitchen. The preview teased whether Lee Seo-jin, Jung Yu-mi, Park Seo-joon, Choi Woo-sik and Go Min-si would be able to resolve the unexpected first serving mistake, leaving viewers curious about the next episode.

tvN’s “Jinny’s Kitchen 2” airs every Friday at 8:40 PM.
