Park Bo-gum Becomes Star Actor After “Roaring Currents” And Reappears At “Noryang” VIP Premiere

Park Bo-gum, who starred in the first film of Yi Sun-sin’s trilogy, visited the premiere of the last film “Noryang”

Actor Park Bo-gum appeared on the red carpet of the movie “Noryang” VIP Premiere held at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the evening of December 12th.

As the last film of Yi Sun-sin trilogy project, “Noryang” is a war action film about Admiral Yu Sun-shin’s final battle to completely eliminate the invading Japanese forces trying to retreat from Joseon seven years after the Imjin War broke out.

Park Bo-gum played the role of Bae Soo-bong in the first film of the trilogy “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” released in 2014. Bae Soo-bong is the boy who follows the footsteps of his father after he dies in a battle and boards the ship led by General Yi Sun-sin to fight against the Japanese forces.

Back then, Park Bo-gum became a scene-stealer as he left a strong impression in the scene where he handed over a taro to Admiral Yi Sun-sin after the battle. “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” attracted 17.61 million viewers and remains the highest-grossing Korean film until now. The film also helped Park Bo-gum become a promising rookie actor and a rising star in Chungmuro.

Park Bo-gum rose to stardom after appearing in tvN’s drama “Reply 1988” in 2015, a year after “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” premiere. Since then, he has expanded his acting spectrum by starring in various works, such as “Coin Locker Girl”, “Seo Bok”, “Love in the Moonlight”, “Itaewon Class”, etc.

Meanwhile, Park Bo-gum chose the musical “Let Me Fly” as his first acting project after getting discharged from the military.
