“The classic melodrama of 90’s youth is born!”
KBS-2TV’s new drama “Oasis” (directed by Han Hee, written by Jung Hyung-soo) confirmed the casting. Jang Dong-yoon, Seol In-ah and Choo Young-woo decided to appear.
“Oasis” is set in the turbulent period of Korea from the 1980s to the 1990s. It is a melodrama that depicts the story of three young people.
The main characters fight fiercely to protect their dreams, friendships and once-in-a-lifetime first loves.
Jang Dong-yoon plays Lee Doo-hak. He is poor but has a brighter brain and a better spirit than anyone else. He gets caught up in an unexpected incident.
Doo-hak falls in a fateful love after seeing Oh Jung-shin, a transfer student from Seoul. Jang Dong-yoon is expected to show an unexpected charm that goes back and forth between innocence and intensity.
Seol In-ah takes on the role of Oh Jung-shin, who has tenacity. After transferring from Seoul as the only daughter of Namhae Theater’s owner, she forms a deep friendship and a fresh love front with Lee Doo-hak and Choi Chul-woong.
Choo Young-woo plays Choi Chul-woong, a friend as well as a rival who grew up with Lee Doo-hak since childhood. He is an elite who is always at the top of the whole school. He has everything and cannot stand losing.
The production team said, “We plan to bring new fun to the current generation’s viewers, and give the older generation who remember the time a sense of immersion with a story that stimulates nostalgia.”
They added, “Please look forward to the story of the youth that will be portrayed by three actors born in the 90s Jang Dong-yoon, Seol In-ah and Choo Young-woo.”
Meanwhile, “Oasis” completed the script reading and will begin filming in September. It is scheduled to air in the first half of 2023.
