News that BTS V paid medical treatment for a dog on “Jinny’s Kitchen” turned out to be false

The story of BTS V helping with the medical treatment of Pero, the mascot dog of tvN's “Jinny’s Kitchen”,  turned out to be untrue.

On May 2nd, a post on Twitter claimed that V had paid for the vaccination and leg treatment of Pero, a stray dog he encountered during the filming of tvN’s variety show “Jinny’s Kitchen” (also known as “Seojin’s”).  Pero had naturally become a part of the show after showing up at the restaurant during filming and received love from the viewers as the restaurant’s mascot.

The author of the tweet claimed that Pero had been adopted by one of the staff members living in Mexico, and that V had paid for the dog’s vaccination and leg treatment before leaving Korea. The tweet was spread as a heartwarming story about V and was reported in various articles.

However, it was confirmed that the kind act was not done by V, but rather the “Jinny’s Kitchen” production team.

According to a report by Ilgan Sports, it was not V but a drone camera staff member from “Jinny’s Kitchen”, who had paid for Pero’s vaccination and leg treatment. An official said, “We are grateful for the interest in Pero”, adding, “It was the ‘Jinny’s Kitchen’ production team who helped Pero.”

Although V’s good deed for Pero turned out to be untrue, the kind act of his colleagues from “Jinny’s Kitchen” has given Pero a new life, and it’s still a heartwarming story from the show.

Meanwhile, V’s self-composed song “Sweet Night” surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, on April 26th. In a recent poll for “K-pop Male Idol Ranking” conducted by Japan’s popular idol ranking site “NEHAN”, V took first place for the 108th consecutive week with 18,940 votes.

On the other hand, “Jinny’s Kitchen” is an entertainment program that shows the process of actor Lee Seo Jin opening up and running a small snack bar abroad. The last episode will be broadcast on May 5th at 8:50 pm.
