NewJeans To Take A Rest After 2nd Debut Anniversary Celebration

The girl group NewJeans, which recently celebrated their 2nd debut anniversary, will spend time resting for the time being

On July 23rd, ADOR released a notice on their official account, saying “The NewJeans members have worked their very hardest to put on fantastic performances and reach new heights despite everything that’s happened. For that reason, they’ll be taking a well-deserved rest, after which they’ll be back to getting ready for their next exciting project for their fans”.

ADOR added, “We’ll be giving you plenty of surprising content and updates in the meantime, so be on the lookout for that and keep sending your love.”

Earlier on the 22nd, NewJeans members expressed their feelings in celebration of their 2nd debut anniversary via ADOR, saying “Two years have passed like a flash. There will be challenges in the future, but we believe that we can make it with the members together”, adding “Two years have been like a dream. There were tough and difficult times but thanks to Bunnies (NewJeans’s fandom), we were able to grow and learn more through giving and receiving love and energy.”

NewJeans has recently been embroiled in plagiarism suspicions. Controversy arose when British band Shakatak pointed out that NewJeans’s new song “Bubble Gum’ plagiarized their song “Easier Said Than Done”.

In this regard, ADOR denied the plagiarism allegation, saying “The two songs are different, from the chord progression (D Major9 x2- C# minor7 – F# mi-nor7) bpm to the overall mood and the flow of the songs”, adding “In particular, the claim of unauthorized use of music is not true at all”.

Meanwhile, NewJeans released their Japanese single titled “Supernatural” last month. Their fanmeeting in Tokyo Dome, which attracted 90,000 viewers, was a hot topic together with the cover performance of “Aoi Sangosho”.
