Netizens react to the home address in “Woo Young-woo’s Mom and Dad” flashback scene

Recently, a scene in ENA’s popular drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” has been embroiled in controversy over feminism tendency.

In episode 8 of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, which aired earlier, the past of Woo Gwang-ho (Jeon Bae-soo) and Tae Soo-mi (Jin Kyung) was depicted.

Woo Gwang-ho and his girlfriend Tae Soo-mi had Woo Young-woo when they were law students at Seoul National University. Pregnant Tae Soo-mi no longer met Woo Gwang-ho and turned cold-heartedly.

However, Woo Gwang-ho went to Tae Soo-mi’s house and begged, saying, “If you have the baby, I’ll never appear in front of you again.”

Although it seemed like a no-problem scene, some netizens paid attention to Tae Soo-mi’s home address in this scene.

They argued that it was suspicious that the home address which appeared in the situation where the protagonists were in conflict over pregnancy and abortion was “Hannam-dong” and “74”.

Netizens claimed that “Hannam” is a word that refers to “Misandry”, and “74” is like a slang for sexual activity.

They said, “74 Hannam-dong is a non-existent address. If so, the address sign that appeared in the drama scene is a self-made prop, and we have no choice but to suspect that the production team intended it.”

In addition, they also criticized a post related to “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” that was uploaded on ENA’s official Instagram account on August 4th.

At that time, a post was uploaded on ENA’s SNS account with the caption “5.5 trillion moms crying and laughing at Young-woo”. Netizens raised the problem that the expression “5.5 trillion” is used as a word to express “Misandry”. Eventually, the post was deleted.

Some people took issue with the content of episode 12 of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”. Referring to episode 12 which dealt with the case of Mir Life Insurance’s female employees being recommended voluntary resignation, some netizens complained of displeasure, “It forms a frame that men are perpetrators and women are victims.”

They emphasized, “Once can be considered a coincidence, but we don’t think this is the case.”

However, there was a position that opposed this.

Netizens who had the opposite position said, “Don’t analyze the drama in a strange direction. If the production team are feminists, why would they describe Woo Young-woo’s father as a wonderful and kind father? Don’t guess forcefully.”
