Netizens left supportive comments on video posted a month ago by Lee Seung Gi, who is having a hard time
While Hook Entertainment and Lee Seung Gi are in conflict over the music revenue settlement, netizens are leaving supportive comments on Lee Seung Gi’s YouTube.
Lee Seung Gi renewed his contract with Hook Entertainment on June 10th, 2021 after establishing the one-man agency “Human Made” in the same year. Lee Seung Gi has been uploading videos of himself singing on Human Made’s official YouTube channel for about 9 months.
The most recent video is the “Table Concert” video uploaded on Oct 28th. In the video, Lee Seung Gi showed off his singing ability by singing as many as 25 songs.
Netizens commented, “I was curious about why he didn’t release an album. I didn’t know there was such a situation“, “Seeing Lee Seung Gi singing, I wish he would do a concert” and “I always cheer for him.”
The conflict between Lee Seung Gi and Hook Entertainment began on Nov 21st when reports emerged that he had not properly received the music revenue settlement for 18 years since his debut in 2004, and that he had sent a certification of contents to his agency.
Regarding this, Hook Entertainment explained on Nov 25th, “When Lee Seung Gi’s exclusive contract expired and was renewed in 2021, he already confirmed the settlement details and agreed to form a financial relationship with us. We also prepared the written agreement to prove this fact. Nevertheless, following Lee Seung Gi’s complaint, we have been reviewing the settlement details of the considerable amount of profits we paid to Lee Seung Gi once again with experts.”
They added, “The content of our contract with Lee Seung Gi, which was recently announced through a media outlet, and the claim that Lee Seung Gi has never received any payment for his music activities are not true at all. If there is anything wrong with our management, we will immediately correct it and take responsibility.”
Despite the conflict with Hook Entertainment, Lee Seung Gi is said to be focusing on his main job, such as participating in the recording of the entertainment show “Master in the House”. He also attended the first-birthday party of an acquaintance’s child with his lover Lee Da In.
