“Running Man” fans complained about Song Ji-hyo and Kim Jong-kook not winning the Best Couple Award.
At the 2021 SBS Entertainment Awards held at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on December 18th, Kim Jong-kook and Song Ji-hyo were nominated for Best Couple Award. However, the award eventually went to Lee Soo-geun and Bae Seong-jae of “Kick A Goal”.
Immediately after the broadcast of the award ceremony, netizens left mixed opinions on the online community theqoo, saying, “Honestly, I thought Kim Jong-kook and Song Ji-hyo would receive it”, “Lee Soo-geun and Bae Seong-jae matched each other well on Kick A Goal”, “The hottest couple was Song Ji-hyo – Kim Jong-kook”, “I love Kook-Mong couple, but I also like Lee Soo-geun and Bae Sung-jae”.
Meanwhile, “Running Man” was awarded various awards at the 2021 SBS Entertainment Awards, including the Honorary Employee (for Ji Seok-jin), Top Excellence (for Yang Se-chan), Top Excellent Program, and Entertainer of the Year (for Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Jong-kook, and Ji Seok-jin) and Scriptwriter Award.
