Naval soldier Park Bo Gum finishes his military service and is officially discharged today (April 30) 

Park Bo Gum has officially completed his military duty and returned to fans. 

Today (April 30th), Park Bo Gum was formally discharged from the military. Due to the pandemic, he didn’t have to return to the unit. He had been on his last year’s vacation since February 21st and was virtually discharged in advance. Park Bo Gum’s agency, Blossom Entertainment, previously stated, “Until April 30, he is still a soldier, so he will be quietly resting without having any activities.”

Park Bo Gum applied to join the keyboard band of the Naval Culture Promotion Team back in June 2020 and passed a practical and interview test before officially enlisting. He completed six weeks of basic training at the Naval Basic Education Group under the Naval Education Command in Jinhae, Gyeongsangnam-do on August 31st of the same year and served as a cultural promotion soldier belonging to the Navy’s military music and honorary unit.

During his service, Park Bo Gum also gained much attention by obtaining a barber’s license. He also attended the ‘Exemplary Leader Soldier Military Service Success Case Training’ as a daily instructor to the 680th year of army trainees.

After continuing to make great strides in the military, Park Bo Gum will have his first official post-discharge public celebrity schedule at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards held on May 6th. Park Bo Gum, together with Shin Dong Yup and Suzy, will be hosting the award ceremony this year. 

Celebrities discharged from the military

Park Bo Gum was an MC for the Baeksang Arts Award alongside Shin Dong Yup and Suzy for three consecutive years from 2018 to 2020. He missed last year due to his military service.
