The different fates of Son Ye Jin and her doppelganger: one rules over the box office, the other only gets rating failures

Despite having both an outstanding appearance and talented acting skills, actress Kyung Soo Jin is still considered nothing more than a clone of Son Ye Jin

It’s a daily occurrence to see younger actresses being called the smaller version of their seniors. However, having the same appearances doesn’t translate to a bright career, and there have been many cases where these beauty actresses never manage to shine, and are forever deemed the clone of someone else. A prime example of this is actress Son Ye Jin and her doppleganger Kyung Soo Jin, who are known to share very similar features.

As of the moment, Son Ye Jin is undeniably a top star in the Korean showbiz, and is a rare actress who has conquered both the big and small screen. She only took 2 years to win Best New Actress and Best Actress at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards, and another year to dominate Blue Dragon Film Awards as well. Ye Jin has in her hand a wide range of successful works, from movies like “The Classic” to K-dramas like “Something In The Rain” and more recently, “Crash Landing On You”, where she co-starred with her husband Hyun Bin.

Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin are currently considered the most powerful couple in Kbiz.

In contrast to Son Ye Jin’s flourishing career, Kyung Soo Jin struggles to make a name for herself. It has been close to 10 years since her 2013 debut, but Soo Jin still doesn’t have any noticeable works. The actress used to play minor roles in “That Winter, The Wind Blows” and “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo”, but the highest peak of her career would be the 2013 drama “Don’t Look Back: The Legend of Orpheus”. Here, the actress played the younger version of Son Ye Jin, and has been dubbed as the mini Son Ye Jin ever since. However, this shadow becomes too huge for Soo Jin to overcome, and projects like “Train” and “Meloholic”, where she played the leading roles, all failed miserably with ratings under 1%.

Kyung Soo Jin signed with YG Entertainment in 2018, yet still hasn’t got any decent work.
