SBS drama My Royal Nemesis continues heating up its romance storyline after Heo Nam Joon’s character boldly confessed once again to Lim Ji Yeon despite already being rejected.
Episode 5 of the Friday-Saturday drama aired on May 22 and focused heavily on the complicated emotional tension between Cha Se Gye and Shin Seo Ri.
After previously becoming confused about his feelings, Cha Se Gye attempted to confirm his emotions by suddenly hugging Shin Seo Ri. During the scene, he confidently declared that he was the type of person who only saw relationships in black and white.
“I decided to go for it,” he told her boldly before adding, “I’ve received countless confessions before, but this is my first time directly approaching someone myself.”
Cha Se Gye then dramatically suggested that being confessed to by him was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, leaving Shin Seo Ri completely unimpressed.
However, Shin Seo Ri immediately shut down his advances, calmly responding that she felt absolutely nothing from the hug.
Shocked by her reaction, Cha Se Gye insisted it was impossible not to feel affected by him and jokingly questioned whether she lacked dating experience.
Shin Seo Ri firmly replied that she simply did not see him as a man romantically.
Despite the rejection, Cha Se Gye refused to give up. Later in the episode, he even sought advice about “push-and-pull” dating tactics from Director Son, played by Yoon Byung Hee.
He eventually launched another attempt to win her over by sending a coffee truck to her filming set and openly declaring that he planned to “take responsibility for her heart from now on.”
Cha Se Gye confessed once again, saying her cold reaction had left him unable to sleep for several nights. He described Shin Seo Ri as a dangerous woman skilled at hiding her true feelings and confidently stated that he never loses.
During the emotional moment, Shin Seo Ri directly asked whether he truly loved her.
Without hesitation, Cha Se Gye answered, “I love you.”
However, Shin Seo Ri crushed his hopes once more by replying, “I do not love you. Forever.”
Although she appeared emotionally unaffected in front of him, the episode later revealed Shin Seo Ri secretly struggling to control her racing heartbeat whenever Cha Se Gye was near, hinting that her feelings may not be as simple as she claims.
The developing chemistry between Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Joon has quickly become one of the drama’s most talked-about elements among viewers online.
