A boy group member has repeatedly sexually assaulted a fellow group member and received a suspended sentence.
On May 30th, the Central Court sentenced A, a male idol from a 6-member boy-group, to 3 years of suspended jail term and 80 hours of sexual therapy and education. It is known that A was charged with sexual assaulting and raping a fellow group member, and would be imprisoned for 2 years and 6 months should he violate any requirements ordered by the court.
Previously, A faced accusations of sexual touching, harassing, and coercing B, a member from the same group, at least 3 times from 2017 to 2021, in their dorm as well as in the practice room.
During his trial, A admitted to sexual assault and coercion, but denied charges of rape. However, the court ruled A as guilty for all charges, seeing that the victim gave consistent and specific testimonies regarding A’s crimes.
A has since departed from his group and ceased all activities.
