Lee Do Hyun proves himself as a trustworthy actor through “The Good Bad Mother”

Actor Lee Do Hyun overwhelmed the small screen viewers with his amazing character transformation.

The third and fourth episodes of JTBC’s Wed-Thu drama “The Good Bad Mother” (written by Bae Se Young/ directed by Shim Na Yeon), which aired on May 3rd and 4th, showed Lee Do Hyun leading the story with his wide acting spectrum. Unlike his cold-blooded prosecutor image in the previous episodes, the actor received favorable reviews for his meticulous portrayal of a pure and naive kid.

The unexpected accident that turned Kang Ho (Lee Do Hyun) into a child was depicted in episode 3. Although Kang Ho almost lost his life, he miraculously regained consciousness and was discharged from the hospital. However, Kang Ho caused his mother Young Soon (Ra Mi Ran) to worry because he did not eat or drink. Scolded by his mother, Kang Ho repeatedly responded, “If I’m full, I will feel sleepy. If I’m sleepy, I can’t study”, revealing his painful childhood memories of not being able to eat properly due to his mother’s strict supervision. Lee Do Hyun’s emotional acting performance as he fully immersed himself in Kang Ho moved viewers to tears.

In episode 4, Lee Do Hyun’s acting skills shone even more. Now having the mind of a 7-year-old child, Kang Ho was seen smiling brightly when playing with the neighborhood kids. Lee Do Hyun also portrayed a pure and innocent longing for his mother. In particular, the scene where Kang Ho frantically searched for his mother who went away for a while in the middle of his physical therapy session touched everyone. Lee Do Hyun skillfully portrayed the contrasting appearances of Kang Ho before and after the accident, from his gaze to his voice tone and facial expressions, showing how attentive and detailed he is when acting.

Amidst these changes, Lee Do Hyun increased viewers’ immersion by presenting Kang Ho’s past skillfully and expressing the temperature changes in the drama. Kang Ho, who was dating Mi Joo (Ahn Eun Jin) when he was a college student preparing for the bar exam, excited female fans’ hearts when he confessed to Mi Joo, “I want to live with you for a long time”, and kissed her after achieving his dream of passing the bar exam. However, he soon transformed into a prosecutor who only pursued money and power, giving a chilly atmosphere. Lee Do Hyun’s acting transformations, ranging from a warm young man to a cruel and heartless prosecutor, amazed all viewers.

Kang Ho and Mi Joo’s reunion was shown at the end of episode 4. Losing the ball that the twins received from their mother Mi Joo as a gift, Kang Ho was so upset that he spent the whole day looking for it. After searching the whole town, he finally found it and rushed to Mi Joo’s house to return it to the twins. However, he faced Mi Joo there. The next chapter in the fateful romance between Kang Ho and Mi Joo is keeping many people awaited.

Drama fans are looking forward to seeing the performance of Lee Do Hyun, who once again certified his immersive and solid acting skills, in the next episodes of “The Good Bad Mother”, which airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 p.m. on JTBC.
