Lee Byung-hun’s wife Lee Min-jung: “I got replaced a day before filming started, I cried in my room for three days” 

Lee Min-jung confessed that she had experienced the sadness of being replaced a day before filming when she was still an unknown actress.

Lee Min-jung appeared on tvN’s “Yoo Quiz on the Block”, which aired on Mar 16th, and recalled her rookie days.

As for the reason for her late debut, she said, “I had a lot of casting offers, but I went to Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Theatre because I dreamed of directing, not acting. I then fell in love with the stage play, and started to have a dream of becoming an actor.”

“My dad told me to go for it after graduating from college if I wanted to be an actress. Now that I think about it, I’m grateful that I have all my friends because I go to elementary, middle, high schools and universities.”

However, she said she had a lot of difficulties in her early debut days. She went through a period of being unknown as she failed the audition several times because she was said to be too old, and there was even an incident in which her casting was reversed a day before the shooting.

She said, “I cried in my room for three days when my role, which was still mine on Dec 31st but was changed (to someone else) on Jan 1. I had even memorized all the lines and prepared the clothes.”

“Now that I think about it, it wasn’t my destiny. I think thanks to that incident, I can be like how I am now. It’s important to change your mind.”

Lee Min-jung made her debut in 2003 as a minor role in the movie “Wishing Stairs.” Since then, she has gained recognition by playing the role of Ha Jae-kyung on KBS 2TV’s “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009. She married actor Lee Byung-hun in 2013 and gave birth to her son Jun-hu in 2015.
