Leading Korean actresses are returning to the small screen (Kim Tae Hee, Jeon Ji Hyun, Song Hye Kyo and more)
Representative actresses, including the legendary trio “TaeHyeJi” and Lee Na Young, will return with new drama projects.
First of all, Song Hye Kyo, whose latest drama – Netflix’s “The Glory” recently ranked 5th in the history of the “non-English-speaking TV category”, is filming her next drama “The Price of Confession”.
“The Price of Confession” depicts the bloody chronicle of two women surrounding a murder case. Song Hye Kyo plays Ahn Yoon Soo, an art teacher whose life change when she accidentally gets caught up in the murder, while Han So Hee takes on the role of Mo Eun, a mysterious woman.
Kim Tae Hee will return to the small screen through ENA’s drama “Lies Hidden in My Garden” three years after tvN’s 2020 drama “Hi Bye, Mama!”.
“Lies Hidden in My Garden” tells the story of two women (Kim Tae Hee and Lim Ji Yeon) – one lives a perfect life that others envy but faces changes with one suspicion, and one struggles to escape from her unhappy life.
Kim Tae Hee plays Kim Joo Ran, who lives a perfect life but begins to suspect her husband when she senses the dead body smell in their new house. Lim Ji Yeon portrays Lee Sang Eun, who dreams of getting away from her violent husband and meets Ju-ran.
Actor Kim Sung Oh appears in this drama as Joo Ran’s husband Park Jae Ho, who has a conflict with his wife due to her suspicion. In addition, actor Choi Jae Rim plays Sang Eun’s husband Kim Yoon Bum, a wealthy pharmaceutical company employee who commits domestic violence.
Actress Lee Na Young will also make a comeback with Wavve’s original drama “Park Ha Kyung’s Travel Journal” four years after tvN’s 2019 series “Romance is a Bonus Book”.
“Park Ha Kyung’s Travel Journal” is an 8-episode drama about Korean teacher Park Ha Kyung, meeting various characters and gaining experiences while traveling to different destinations for just one day every Saturday.
Lastly, Jeon Ji Hyun is currently reviewing the casting offer for “Polaris”, starring alongside Kang Dong Won. If Jeon Ji Hyun agrees to appear in this drama, she will greet drama fans after two years since Netflix’s “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” and tvN’s drama “Jirisan” in 2021.
“Polaris” depicts the story of spies, who have lost their identities, finding back themselves. This project will mark the reunion of writer Jeong Seo Kyung and PD Kim Hee Won, who previously worked together on “Little Women”.
