Miyawaki Sakura, born on March 19, 1998, is a singer-songwriter, actress, and model. She is a current member of K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM and was a former member of K-pop group IZ*ONE and Japanese idol groups AKB48 and HKT48.

Sakura’s Career
- HKT48 & AKB48:
Sakura joined the Japanese idol group HKT48 in July 2011 as a 1st generation trainee. She officially appeared with the group for the first time in October of the same year, at a handshake event.
In 2012, Sakura was appointed as co-captain in Team KIV of HKT48, having gained rapid attention while in the group.
Sakura was announced as a member of AKB48’s Team A(another group under the 48Project system) in 2014, making her a member of 2 different groups at the same time. She ended up leaving Team A in 2017.
In 2018, Sakura joined the survival program “Produce 48” and took a temporary hiatus from HKT48 in order to perform activities in Korea.
In 2021, Sakura returned to HKT48, but graduated from the group in the same year.
- “Produce 48” & IZ*ONE:
In 2018, Sakura competed in the survival program “Produce 48”, and from here started to gain influence in the K-pop industry.
She later placed 2nd in the finale of “Produce 48”, making her an official member of project girl group IZ*ONE, gaining massive attention outside of Japan. Sakura was active under IZ*ONE until the group’s disbandment in April 2021.
- LE SSERAFIM:
After graduating IZ*ONE’s disbandment and her graduation from HKT48, Sakura discussed a contract with HYBE. She ended up debuting as a member of girl group LE SSERAFIM in May 2022, under the HYBE subsidiary Source Music.

Throughout her idol career, Sakura also participated in various other fields, including modeling, acting, entrepreneur, and hosting.
In particular, Sakura was the model for various cosmetics and fashion brands, and starred in several TV series such as “Crow’s Blood” and “Majisuka Gakuen”.
She also launched her cosmetic brand Cran by Molak in 2021, which was cosmetic brand Cran by Molak in 2021. However, the brand ceased operations in November 2022.
In 2022, Sakura started her own variety show titled “Fearless Kkura”, where she consistently proves her excellent hosting skills and variety senses.

Sakura is an only child of her biological parents, who divorced when she was only a year old. As a result, she met her father whose face she never knew at a handshake event for her group. Sakura’s mother has since remarried, so the female idol has a 12-year-younger step-brother named Sotaro.
In 2010, Sakura received Broadway musical lessons in New York. She is a huge fan of Red Velvet and her bias is Irene.
It is known that Sakura made a condition to Source Music that she would sign a contract with them only if she was not the leader of the group.
Sakura currently has a penchant for crocheting, and has even made stage outfits for LE SSERAFIM, alongside items for other female idols by crocheting. She also loves gaming and has a gaming channel on YouTube.
