Kim Yoo-jung expressed special affection for an actress who worked together with her.
Kim Yoo-jung attended the open talk of Netflix’s movie “20th Century Girl” held at the outdoor stage of Busan Cinema Center, Haeundae, Busan on Oct 8th. Director Bang Woo-ri, actors Byeon Woo-seok, Park Jung-woo and Roh Yoon-seo also came here.
Kim Yoo-jung said, “I was born in 1999, which is the backdrop of this movie, but I have no idea. I asked the director a lot because I didn’t know what things were and what experiences people had at that time. In fact, the director also told me a lot about the emotions of that era. It was nice to be able to personally experience that era.”
She added, “I really wanted to participate in the movie from the first time I read the scenario. The character ‘Bo-ra’ was so lovely and cute. Even other friends and family members were emotionally warm and cute. I thought that I could get some healing while filming. I actually enjoyed filming it. I had a lot of conversations with the director during the preparation process.”
Kim Yoo-jung shared, “Bo-ra is so lovely and loyal that I hope she can be my friend. ’20th Century Girl’ is a work that I love and cherish so much. Without realizing it, the people in the movie seem to remain in my heart. I’ll try to take it out sometimes. I think I’ll gain strength if I look at it.”
Roh Yoon-seo said, “I’ve seen Yoo-jung since I was young, and it was an honor to work with her for the first time. The more we worked together, the closer we became. Whenever filming an important scene, she was completely immersed in it. There were so many things I learned and felt while filming with her. There are only good memories. We were in perfect harmony.”
In response, Kim Yoo-jung confessed, “There were times when I cried just by looking at her. By the end of the film, we looked at each other emotionally. Bo-ra and Yeon-du are like lovers. Since friendship is also love, I think I felt it while acting.”
Director Bang Woo-ri revealed, “I received a confession of love from the two actresses. They told me, ‘Thank you so much for casting the other person.'” At this time, Kim Yoo-jung and Roh Yoon-seo said “I love you” to each other.
“20th Century Girl” depicts the friendship and freshness of first love based in the backdrop of 1999.
