Kep1er’s agencies announced to take strong legal action against malicious posts without mercy
WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment announced that they would react intensely against malicious posts online.
On November 5th, WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment, which join hand to manage Kep1er (Choi Yu-jin, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Kim Chae-hyun, Kim Da-yeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Young-eun and Kang Ye-seo), issued an announcement on the Kep1er’s official SNS account, saying they would take strong measure against malicious posts online.
WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment stated, “In order to protect our artists, we will take strong action without mercy against malicious posts that spread false information and acts of insulting and defaming.”
They emphasized, “We are collecting related data and evidence by monitoring SNS pages, online communities, and portal sites. We are going to take criminal legal measures against defamation under the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Act and insults under the Criminal Law”. They continued, “In addition, we are receiving reports on malicious posts related to our artists through e-mail. Therefore, we want to ask for your cooperation. We will do our best to protect and promote our artists.”. Kep1er is a girl group composed of TOP9 members selected through Mnet’s “Girls Planet 999” which recently ended.
Fans from 175 countries around the world participated in the program’s final global vote, proving its global popularity, and the show’s related YouTube videos also proved that Kep1er is a group created by a global fandom by surpassing 460 million views in total.
Kep1er is reported to have opened its official SNS account and fan cafe prior to its official debut. On November 4th, the group began to communicate with fans around the world by conducting its first group live broadcast through its newly opened official V LIVE channel.
