Alongside new K-dramas that will grace the small screen, many series are also releasing second or even third seasons.

At the end of season 1, the male lead Yi Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) had a “happy ending” with the female lead Nam Ji Ah (Jo Bo Ah). The 2nd season, however, is a prequel that tells the tale of Yi Yeon before the events of season 1.

“Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon” is the sequel of the 2017 fantasy seriesStrong Woman Do Bong Soon”. “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” revolves around the cute love story of Do Bong Soon (Park Bo Young), who has superhuman strength, and the rich CEO Ahn Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik), who was threatened and so hired Bong Soon as his bodyguard. Together, the couple faced various issues as well as hilarious situations.

With its interesting content, cute romance, and excellent acting from the main couple, “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” is easily one of the most successful jTBC series in 2017. Therefore, when news arrive that its sequel will be airing in 2023, K-dramas have high expectations.

Unfortunately, the cast of “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” won’t return for “Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon”. Instead, actress Lee Yoo Mi, who gained attention via “Squid Game” and “All Of Us Are Dead”, will assume the leading role. In particular, she will star as the female lead Kang Nam Soo – a distant cousin of season 1’s female lead Do Bong Soon, who also has super strength.

Other confirmed cast members include Kim Hae Sook, Kim Jung Eun, as well as young actors Ong Seong Woo and Byun Woo Seok – all of whom are both gorgeous and talented. Hopefully, this sequel will be able to live up to the name of the original series.

All Of Us Are Dead 2

The school horror series “All Of Us Are Dead” has been confirmed to return with all of its original cast, according to streamt platform Netflix. If season 1 is focused solely on the premise of a high school, then footage from the filming of season 2 shows that the zombie apocalypse has spreaded throughout the city.

In addition, according to director Lee Jae Kyo, “All Of Us Are Dead 2” will dig deeper into the differences between the humans and zombies, as well as the existence of “half-zombies”, such as the class representative Choi Nam Ra (Cho Yi Hyun).

The return of male lead Lee Cheong San (Yoon Chan Young), meanwhile, also draws curiosity, as it is unclear whether he will survive after his epic final battle with Gwi Nam (Yoo In Soo) in season 1.

As of the moment, there’s no scheduled airing date for the second season of “All Of Us Are Dead”, but fans are in high anticipations nonetheless, especially after season 1 left a lot of questions unanswered.

Alchemy Of Souls 2

Considered one of the most successful historical K-dramas released this year, Alchemy Of Souls has successfully conquered viewers with its fun plot and good acting of the young cast.

Alchemy Of Souls

Although it is a fantasy drama, “Alchemy of Souls” still excels at what most Korean dramas are good at, humor and romance. The first season ended on a cliffhanger, raising curiosity for season 2, which has been confirmed to premiere by the end of this year.

However, many fans of season 1 are not happy with the change in the cast. In particular, Jung So Min will not continue to take on the female lead role. She will be replaced by Go Yoon Jung in season 2.

Go Yoon Jung is a promising actress. Her beautiful visuals are also a big plus for the role. Hopefully, Go Yoon Jung will become the soul of the drama like Jung So Min did in season 1.

Arthdal Chronicles 2

Arthdal Chronicles” is a fantasy historical drama, telling the legends of the fictional land of Arth. Even before its release, the drama created much buzz when it announced a huge investment budget with a star-studded cast.

However, the drama was entangled with many controversies when it was suspected of plagiarism and having poor visual effects. Despite this, “Arthdal Chronicles” was still one of the most noticeable K-dramas of 2019.

The upcoming season 2 caused the production crew to once again face criticism from the audience due to major changes in the cast.

Accordingly, Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won will not continue to participate in season 2. They will be replaced by Lee Jun Ki and Shin Se Kyung. If Lee Jun Ki is loved by the audience for his trustworthy acting, Shin Se Kyung sparks controversy because of her unstable performance.

Of course, season 2 hasn’t aired yet, so it’s still too soon to judge. However, with many viewers turning their backs due to the absence of Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won, perhaps the cast and crew will have to work very hard to gain the audience’s interest.
