JYP unveils “Nizi Project 2” to debut a new boy group after the success of Season 1’s group NiziU
JYP Entertainment will launch the global audition program “Nizi Project Season 2” this July.
On July 6th, Japanese terrestrial broadcaster Nihon TV ‘Day Day’ announced, “Season 2 of the global audition program ‘Nizi Project’ jointly launched by Korea’s top entertainment agency JYP and Japan’s largest record label Sony Music to discover members for a new boy group will begin on July 21st”.
Based on the know-how of K-pop representative producer Park Jin Young and JYP’s idol training system, “Nizi Project’ successfully created the girl group NiziU in 2020. Since pre-debut, NiziU has set various first and best records in the Japanese music, advertising, and performing industries. With various achievements, the girl group proved their firm position and steady popularity. In “Nizi Project 2”, a new boy group will be formed to continue the success of NiziU.
“Nizi Project 2” reveals the global audition that began in July 2021 and was held in a total of 11 cities, including 8 cities in Japan, New York, Los Angeles, and Seoul, with more than 10,000 applications. In particular, JYP added a new division to enhance the boy group’s dance, vocal, and star quality. Like Season 1, JYP CCO Park Jin Young continued to meet the contestants in person, gave the boys advice, and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
Season 2 of “Nizi Project” will premiere for the first time on JYP’s official Youtube channel at 10 p.m. on July 21st then air every Friday at the same time. In Japan, viewers can watch it on the online video platform Hulu. In addition, Nihon TV plans to hold a special broadcast on July 19th to introduce “Nizi Project 2”, and schedule a regular program to show the whole process of how the boy group is formed, from training to the final stage of debut.
