Jang Geun Suk boasts unexpected thrifty lifestyle despite owning 100 billion won in assets

Singer-actor Jang Geun Suk revealed that he likes spending money only on food.

On July 5th, Jang Geun Suk uploaded a new Vlog video of his recent trip to Japan on his Youtube channel. 

In the video, Jang Geun Seuk expressed his gratitude to drummer Hoontae of the band MONNI who helped him with the performance, by preparing shoes as a gift. Generously giving expensive gifts to others, Jang Geun Suk continued to flex at the restaurant. After tasting lobsters, he expressed happiness, saying “Thank you”, adding “I’m thrifty on most things, but the only thing I don’t hold back on using money on is food.”

Jang Geun Suk has shown his thrifty lifestyle many times. The male singer said, “After releasing the first episode, I heard many people talk about my T-shirt. So I bought a new one. It’s new and has not stretched yet”, showing off his new T-shirt. It is because he once made headlines when wearing an old T-shirt with stretched neck.

Revealing an awkward situation related to his old T-shirt, Jang Geun Suk said, “The problem is when I put on the mic, the neck comes down. Please tell me when it comes down. I don’t even have a stylist now. It should come down to a certain point. What should I do if you see my third eye?”, drawing laughter with his worries about the situation when he unintentionally exposes his chest due to the weight of the mic.

Meanwhile, Jang Geun Suk emerged as a Hallyu star after his drama became viral in Japan. Later, he reportedly invested in buildings located in Buchon, Gangnam, such as Cheongdamdong and Samseongdong. His real estate assets in Korea alone are estimated to be around 55 billion won.

It was also revealed on a TV Chosun broadcast that Jang Geun Suk purchased a building in Shibuya, the center of Tokyo, Japan. The value of this building is evaluated to be around 60 billion won and its monthly rent is around 300 million won. As such, Jang Geun Suk’s total domestic and overseas assets may exceed 100 billion won.
