On July 25, a new video titled “Rollercoaster Goddess Jung Ga Eun 10 Years Later – Her Current Life” was uploaded to Jung Ga Eun’s YouTube channel, Jung Ga Eun Exploration Life.
During the video, Jung Ga Eun looked back on the early days of her career. She explained that she first worked as a fashion model before competing in the Miss Korea pageant, and later moved to Seoul in 2002, where she appeared in numerous commercials for products including soft drinks and soap.
She then recalled filming a soap commercial that required a shower scene, describing it as one of the most humiliating experiences of her career. “Since the front of my body couldn’t be shown, they filmed me from behind. But something really humiliating happened during that shoot,” she said.
According to Jung Ga Eun, there were no proper privacy measures on set. “Male staff members kept walking past the filming area. There weren’t even proper partitions or any effort to control people’s movements,” she recalled. “I remember thinking that if I had already been a famous star, I would never have been treated like that. I ended up crying while filming.”
The actress also reflected on the period when she rose to fame through tvN’s hit program Rollercoaster. “At that time, I worked about 360 days a year,” she said. “Looking back now, I realize how grateful I should have been for every opportunity I had.”
Jung Ga Eun also spoke candidly about her marriage and divorce.
“You shouldn’t get married simply because you want to get married. You should only marry when you truly feel, ‘This is the person I can spend my life with,'” she shared. She admitted that at the time, she desperately wanted to get married because she felt lonely. “When I fell in love, I only saw the good side of him. Then I became pregnant with my daughter, and that’s how I decided to get married.”
The actress revealed that she and her former husband had very different lifestyles and that many problems only became apparent after they divorced. “That wasn’t the direct reason we divorced,” she explained. “Even after the divorce, I wanted to maintain a relationship because he’s my daughter’s father. I tried my best to make sure she could still see him, but things didn’t work out.”
She went on to reveal a shocking financial betrayal. “About two years later, I discovered that an enormous amount of money had been moving around. When I checked the account under my name, the balance was zero. He had already disappeared, cut off all contact, and only his overseas travel records remained,” she said. Jung Ga Eun added that she never received child support and that even after the divorce, her former husband continued asking her to lend him money.
Jung Ga Eun married a businessman outside the entertainment industry in 2016, and the couple welcomed a daughter before divorcing in 2018. She later filed fraud charges against her ex-husband, alleging that he had impersonated her and illegally obtained a large amount of money under her name.
