On September 14, actress Jin Seo-yeon uploaded an image of Charlie Kirk (1993–2025) along with a praying hands emoji and the caption: “Rest in peace.”
According to AP News, Charlie Kirk was killed on September 10 during a debate at Utah Valley University. While responding to a question about mass shootings, he was fatally shot — an incident that has shocked U.S. politics and media alike.

Charlie Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative youth organization, and a prominent Trump ally. Trump himself issued a statement calling Kirk “a great and legendary figure” and ordered flags across the U.S. to fly at half-mast in his honor.
This is not the first time a Korean celebrity has publicly reacted to Kirk’s death. Super Junior’s Choi Siwon also shared a tribute on Instagram before later deleting it.

Jin Seo-yeon’s post has sparked mixed responses online. Some netizens view it as a simple human gesture of mourning, while others criticize the actress for honoring a far-right political figure tied to divisive rhetoric in the U.S.
As discussions continue, Jin Seo-yeon has not released any further statement clarifying her stance.
