THE BOYZ has come under fire once again after canceling their upcoming THE BLAZE World Tour stop in Oakland, originally scheduled for September 19, 2025.
The official statement from organizers cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the abrupt cancellation. All purchased tickets will be automatically refunded within seven to ten business days.

While the company apologized, fans were outraged at the late notice — less than a week before the show. Many had already spent money on flights, hotels, and time off from work, all of which cannot be reimbursed. Social media quickly filled with frustrated comments accusing the organizers and agency of poor planning and lack of professionalism.
Criticism largely centered on choosing a venue too large for the group’s current demand, paired with high ticket prices that discouraged sales. Fans argued that the lack of transparency and the last-minute cancellation damaged trust even further.

This isn’t the first time THE BOYZ has faced “empty seat” controversies. Earlier this year, a concert at Pia Arena in Japan went viral when fan videos showed large sections of the venue — including the upper levels — almost entirely empty, with only the floor and part of the first tier filled.
Debuting in 2017 under IST Entertainment, THE BOYZ initially struggled as a large-member group from a smaller company. Their turning point came in 2020 through Mnet’s Road to Kingdom, which boosted their recognition and solidified a passionate fandom.
But in recent years, controversies have overshadowed their achievements. Former member Ju Haknyeon made headlines with sensitive rumors involving an adult film actress, while Eric faced backlash after accidentally purchasing inappropriate merchandise as a fan gift. These repeated scandals, combined with underwhelming concert sales, have led many to question the group’s stability and future.

Once considered a promising fourth-generation boy group, THE BOYZ now risks being remembered more for controversy than for music. As fans express disappointment and fatigue, the group faces an uncertain road ahead.
