TWICE leader Jihyo has shared a heartfelt message with fans as speculation surrounding her future with JYP Entertainment continues. Posting on the fan communication platform Bubble on July 28, the singer acknowledged fans’ concerns over her contract status and asked them to trust whatever decision she ultimately makes.
Jihyo admitted that ongoing discussions about her future have weighed heavily on her mind. “It’s hard for me to chat like I usually do because my heart still feels very heavy.” Her message suggested that she is well aware of the anxiety many fans have expressed regarding her next career move.
The TWICE member reassured fans that she is carefully considering her future and will make the choice she believes is best. “As the person responsible for my own life, I’ll think things through carefully and make a wise decision.”
She continued by asking ONCE, TWICE’s official fandom, to continue supporting and believing in her just as they always have. “I hope ONCE will continue to cheer me on and trust me, just like you always have.”
Jihyo also emphasized that her affection for TWICE remains unchanged, regardless of the outcome of the contract negotiations. ” I truly love and cherish TWICE as a team.” She expressed confidence that fans would understand her sincerity, adding that she hopes to return soon when she can once again chat casually and joke with fans as usual.
Earlier this month, reports claimed that Jihyo may leave JYP Entertainment after spending 21 years with the company and establish her own independent agency. In response, JYP Entertainment stated on July 14 that discussions with the members are still ongoing. The agency said: “TWICE is currently in the contract renewal discussion period, and we are continuing careful discussions. We will provide an update once anything has been finalized.”
Jihyo joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2005 at a young age before debuting as the leader of TWICE in 2015. In 2022, all nine members of TWICE renewed their contracts with the agency together. As those agreements approach their expiration, the group is once again in negotiations over their future.
For now, neither Jihyo nor JYP Entertainment has announced a final decision. However, her latest message reassures fans that she is approaching the process thoughtfully while reaffirming her deep love for both TWICE and its fans.
