According to reports, Jungkook took to his Instagram Story on July 27 to briefly share his thoughts after watching Hope, writing: “Hope is really fun.”
He later elaborated on his review during a live broadcast with fans, revealing that he watched the film in 4DX. “I really enjoyed it. I watched it in 4DX, and it felt incredibly immersive,” Jungkook said. “I heard it’s a movie that’s getting mixed reactions, but I personally thought it was really entertaining.”
The BTS star added that he was completely absorbed in the story from beginning to end. “I was totally immersed. There were a lot of funny moments too. During the chase scenes, my palms were actually sweating because they were so intense.”

Encouraging fans who haven’t seen the film yet, Jungkook continued: “For ARMY who haven’t watched it yet, the speed and realism are amazing. Anyway, I really enjoyed it.”
Jungkook’s praise quickly reached director Na Hong-jin, who responded by reposting Jungkook’s Instagram Story on his own social media account. Although the filmmaker did not add a lengthy comment, his repost was widely interpreted as a gesture of appreciation for the singer’s positive review.
Following Jungkook’s recommendation, many BTS fans expressed interest in seeing Hope, raising speculation that the singer’s endorsement could help sustain the film’s momentum at the box office.

Often referred to by fans and industry observers as the “Jungkook effect,” the singer’s public recommendations have frequently generated increased interest in products, music, restaurants, and entertainment titles.
Directed by Na Hong-jin, Hope is the filmmaker’s latest feature and was invited to compete at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. As of July 28, the film has surpassed 3.51 million admissions, according to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office system.
