ILLIT Talks About Reaching No.1 On Melon, “We Never Imagined It, Thank You Producer Bang Si-hyuk”
HYBE’s rookie girl group ILLIT expressed their feelings about achieving huge success right from their debut with “Magnetic”
ILLIT is dominating domestic and international music charts with their debut song “Magnetic”. According to Melon’s latest chart release, ILLIT’s “Magnetic” took No.1 for the first time on April 8th, 14 days after its release on March 25th. ELLIT is also the only group that debuted this year to top this chart and they are continuing the momentum by maintaining the rank.
In this regard, ILLIT members also shared their feelings via News1. The girl group thanked producer Bang Si-hyuk and the staff and said, “We never imagined it”.
First of all, Yunah said, “I’ve never thought that we would be able to win first place. I’m also happy that we won first place with our debut song”, adding “I’ll always do my best to be a singer who performs and sings well. Thank you so much for your love”.
Minju commented, “I never thought of topping the Melon chart, but it’s so amazing that we even got the first place”, adding “I want to thank producer Bang Si-hyuk for making such a good song called ‘Magnetic’ and all the producers who participated in making it. I’ll work harder and show you my improvement in the future”. Moka confessed, “I never imagined placing No.1. It doesn’t feel real to me and I still think I’m dreaming. Thank you so much to all the fans who helped us have such happy days like this. I will show you my better side in the future”.
Wonhee then shared, “It’s my honor to debut under the name ILLIT and rank No.1 on Melon. I will work harder to repay fans who listened to our song and supported us so that we could achieve things we never imagined before”. Lastly, Iroha said, “I’m very happy that many people listened to our song and joined the challenge. Please continue to love ‘Magnetic’ and ILLIT. I’ll work harder”.
Apart from Melon Daily Chart, ILLIT is also showing good results in the long run by topping many other music charts, such as Bugs Daily Chart.
The group is also doing well in the global music market. According to the latest Billboard chart release (April 13th), “Magnetic”, the title track of ILLIT’s first album “SUPER REAL ME”, placed second on Bubbling Under Hot 100. They also became the first K-pop group to enter this chart with their debut song.
In addition, “Magnetic” ranked No.8 and No.2 on Global 200 and Global (Excl. US), respectively, despite the comeback of big stars such as Beyoncé. The album also placed No.5 on World Album category and No.4 on Heatseekers Album, remaining in Top 5 for two consecutive weeks and helping the group rise to No.19 on Emerging Artists.
