If IU’s agency didn’t listen to “this advice” from a shaman, IU would have lost her life

The reveal of an anecdote about “National Singer” IU escaping from the crisis of losing her life thanks to a shaman shocked many people.

In February last year, the video titled, “Was IU destined to become a national singer?”, was uploaded on the Youtube channel “Gina Everywhere” of travel blogger Maeng Gina, who used to be a singer trainee. Maeng Gina revealed that she was a trainee in the same agency as IU and said, “IU told me this randomly when we were having lunch a while after it happened”.

Gina continued, “The CEO of IU’s agency (when it was LOEN Entertainment) went to meet a shaman when the company because he was so nervous about starting in an industry he had never been in and all the singers in the company were just trainees and rookies”.

She then said, “He went to the shaman and asked if his company would do well. The shaman apparently told him, ‘There will be a national singer. As soon as this superstar appears, you have to move the company. Don’t look back, just pack up and leave”.

When IU released “Good Day” and made a big hit, the CEO hurriedly packed up and moved the company. It is said that when IU came to the company after finishing her schedule, she was shocked to find all the staff packing like crazy.

Surprisingly, a month after LOEN Entertainment moved to a new building, a huge landslide occurred right at that place. It was the landslide that happened at Umyeonsan Mountain on July 27th, 2011. This landslide resulted in 17 deaths, 50 injuries and caused more than 60 out of 120 households to be isolated. LOEN Entertainment’s old building was wiped out entirely.
