Actors Hyun Bin (40) and Son Ye Jin (40) are suffering from fake news on YouTube.
On March 15th, a video was uploaded on YouTube claiming that Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin divorced amicably on the same day. The video contained fake news with provocative content that Hyun Bin gambled abroad, which caused Son Ye Jin to divorce him by mutual agreement due to property loss.
The title of this video is “Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin divorced after 6 months of marriage…It’s a shock!!” Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin got married at the end of March last year, and if they divorced after 6 months, it should be at the end of September or early October last year, but the video claimed that the two divorced on March 15th this year. It is absurd fake news that does not match the content and the title of the video.
The content is not true at all, but as of the morning of March 20th, the 6th day of publication, this video has become a hot topic enough to record more than 300,000 views and is causing damage to Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin.
Hyun Bin’s agency VAST Entertainment told News1, “It is fake news. Hyun Bin is suffering from fake news on YouTube these days.” Aside from the video, fake news surrounding Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are being reproduced numerous times online, including YouTube.
The agency said, “We are responding by reporting and deleting. We can take legal action, but we are not going that far because it is so absurd. If there is a serious and excessive issue, we will consider such legal measures.”
Son Ye Jin’s agency MSteam also announced, “This is absurd fake news. We will consider what measures to take internally.”
Meanwhile, top star couple Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin got married on March 31st last year and became parents in November of the same year.
