“We Did It”: BLACKPINK’s Historic Performance at Coachella Leaves Fans and Dancers in Awe
BLACKPINK had a successful journey at Coachella 2023.
At 9pm (local time), BLACKPINK officially returned to the biggest music festival on the planet – Coachella 2023. Before their second night performance, there were many rumors on social media about the appearance of Selena Gomez with “Ice Cream” or “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga.
However, this was just a “hoax”, and the second show was still the same setlist that BLACKPINK had brought in the first week. But with brand new outfits and their “experience”, BLACKPINK completely set fire to Coachella 2023 music festival.
Immediately after their performance, BLACKPINK had a moment of celebration with foreign dancers. One male dancer even bowed down as a sign of respect for the girls after their one-and-a-half-hour performance. On Instagram, the backup dancers also shared their emotions after the two nights of performances.
One dancer wrote, “Couldn’t hold back the tears tonight. I love these girls with my whole heart They’ve worked so hard to be where they are, and I am honored to have played even the smallest part in their journey Proud is an understatement“.
Another dancer shared, “Heart is so full meeting & working with these ladies as a stand-in was a memory I’ll never forget. Congrats on making history, BLACKPINK! You deserve every bit of love & success. I’ve become a #1 fan!”.
In particular, international fans also “went crazy” on Twitter after BLACKPINK finished their journey at Coachella 2023. Most of them praised the YG girls for continuing to make history at one of the biggest music festivals in the world. A Thai audience member shared, “When they first started, people said they couldn’t sing. But until now, I dare to say that the number one girl group in the world is BLACKPINK. The only Asian group to come this far. The success and talent of the girls are unmatched. Tears have fallen. How many more years until we have another group like this?“.
International fans expressed their admiration: “They had outstanding stage presence in the US. They carried themselves professionally, but they also had fun and did their own thing. As I observed the huge crowds, I couldn’t help but feel proud“.
