“Marry My Husband” Proposal Scene Went Viral: 2 Million Views, Netizens All Laughing

Park Min-young’s most recent K-drama “Marry My Husband” has maintained its strong appeal after weeks of air. In the recent episode, Ji-won (Park Min-young) has discovered Ji Hyuk’s (Na In Woo) true identity, and the two have become much closer.

At the same time, Ji-won starts to draw clear boundaries with her “best friend” Soo-min (Song Ha-yoon). However, she can’t seem to easily part with her scummy boyfriend Min-hwan (Lee Yi-kyung), and history repeats itself when Ji-won faces another marriage proposal from this man.

It can be seen that in Ji-won’s second life, Min-hwan’s proposal is much grander. This also reminds her of what happened in her first life: Min-hwan’s “low-budget” proposal with a spelling mistake, to which she still naively nodded in agreement.

In Ji-won’s memory, Min-hwan proposed to her right at home with some sandwich pieces, two candles, a few balloons with some even deflated, along with an A4 paper that read “Will you marry me.”

To make matters worse, Min-hwan misspelled the word “marry” as “merry,” but instead of rewriting the word on another piece of paper, he saved money by correcting it directly on the same paper. As a result, even though Ji-won felt embarrassed and extremely disappointed, she still accepted the proposal.

After this scene aired, images and scenes related to this proposal have been actively shared by viewers, becoming a new “meme” on SNS. Looking at the misspelled words combined with Lee Yi-kyung’s incredibly humorous expression, viewers simply can’t hold back their laughter. On the TikTok platform, this funny clip garnered almost 3 million views within half a day of being posted, accompanied by numerous comments from fans expressing their love for Lee Yi-kyung’s character, even though he plays an antagonist role.
