HYBE Apologizes to BOYNEXTDOOR Fan Violently Pushed at Airport

After a BOYNEXTDOOR fan was violently pushed at the airport by a bodyguard of the group, HYBE has released an official statement

On December 18, a footage of BOYNEXTDOOR at the airport garnered massive attention for the wrong reason.

In particular, as the boy group walked in the airport, many fans surrounded them to take photos. One Chinese fan holding a camera was no exception, though she kept a respectable distance, backing away as BOYNEXTDOOR member moved.

However, the fan was suddenly violently pushed by the boy group’s bodyguard, causing her to fall to the floor. One BOYNEXTDOOR member noticed the situation and tried to offer help, but was ushered away by bodyguards.

As a result, various netizens have criticized the bodyguard and express anger at how the fan was treated.

Meanwhile, BOYNEXTDOOR’s agency KOZ, a subsidiary of HYBE, has issued an official statement on December 19, officially apologizing for the violence of bodyguards against fans.

The full statement is as below:

“Hello,

This is KOZ Entertainment.

We sincerely apologize to our fans for the issue that occurred due to the inappropriate actions of a security guard performing duties for BOYNEXTDOOR at Qingdao Airport on the 16th.

We have separately sent an apology message to the person directly affected, and measures have been taken to ensure that the involved security personnel will not be deployed to our artists’ locations in the future.

We will make every effort to strengthen security guidance and education for security personnel to prevent such issues from recurring.

Thank you”.
