Highlight’s Son Dongwoon Surprises Fans with September Wedding Announcement in Handwritten Letter

Highlight’s youngest member Son Dongwoon sudddenly announced his marriage.

On June 27th, Son Dongwoon revealed his marriage through a handwritten letter on his Instagram.

Son Dongwoon started his letter by saying, “It’s been a while since I wrote a handwritten letter for all of you. It might be sudden news. I know that many of you might be surprised and also feel a bit sad, so I’m still very nervous and cautious right now.“

He continued, “But because I want to convey my feelings to all of you before anyone else, I gathered up the courage to write this down. Fortunately, I have met someone who understands me and cares for me a lot. I want to be with this person from now on, so we decided to have our wedding in September.” 

He mentioned his wife-to-be, “The person I will marry is not someone with the same job as me, so I plan to have a quiet wedding ceremony with only our families and close friends.“

Son Dongwoon then said, “I first met all of you when I was 19 years old. I have been the maknae at home and in the group. I am grateful that all of you have sent me so much support and love.” 

He added, “Even though I am still lacking a lot, both at my debut and now, thanks to the love you have given me, I was able to grow this much and I am well aware that I am who I am today because of all of you,” expressing his gratitude to the fans.

Lastly, he said, “I am grateful to the Highlight members who have supported me and believed in me consistently. I will not forget the gratitude towards everyone and will put in even more effort than before from now on. As a more mature person, I will repay your love as Highlight’s Dongwoon, who gives his best in his place. Thank you for reading this clumsy letter until the end.”

Born in 1991, Son Dongwoon debuted in Beast in 2009. After that, he debuted again with the members in 2017 as Highlight and has been active since then.
