Netizens show mixed reactions over a background scene of Gummy’s singing stage for the 50th anniversary of KBS Dramas 

Because Song Joong Ki has moved on, netizens believed the scene in question was an insensible choice. 

On March 3rd, a special 50th anniversary of public broadcasting called “Your KBS, Our 50 Years” festival was held. On this day, many stars participated in the event, including Choi Soo Jong, Chae Si Ra, and broadcaster Kang Ho Dong to present a meaningful stage.

KBS dramas also had the chance to look back on their 50 years of love from fans and singer Gummy sang the OST of “Descendants of the Sun” passionately. For this special stage, she wore a silk blouse with slacks and showed off a luxurious yet elegant beauty. When the accompaniment of “You Are My Everything” was on, Gummy began singing in her most soulful voice, touching the hearts of the listeners. 

The song choice was apparent because “Descendants of the Sun” achieved pan-Asian success and was loved worldwide. The series furthered the strength of Korean Wave in overseas country. 

Nonetheless, during Gummy’s performance of “Descendants of the Sun” OST, the LED screen actually showed the kiss scene between Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki. In response, fans showed their disapproval as the couple at the time has already divorced and Song Joong Ki even announced marriage and is welcoming his first child. However, others did not think much of it, saying, “A drama is just a drama,” and “It was a material suitable for KBS’ 50th anniversary special.”
