GOT7 member and actor Park Jin Young will be taking on the male lead role of “The Witch”.
An entertainment official told Sports Chosun on April 28th that Park Jin Young will be playing the main character of a new drama titled “The Witch,” an adaptation from the webtoon of the same name by author and artist Kang Full. It tells the story of a man who falls in love with a woman called a “witch.”
Park Jin Young will be playing Lee Dong Jin. Upon graduating from college with a major in statistics, he is scouted by Shine Solutions as a top-rated data miner in the industry. In the past, Dong Jin met Mi Jung, a lonely witch who always appeared in front of him and stood at the center of rumors, and all he did was look at her. He was later determined to study statistics because of her. In the present, when Dong Jin suddenly sees Mi Jung again on the subway, he is now willing to do everything he can for her.
Park Jin Young made his acting debut in “Dream High 2” in 2012 and appeared in “When a Man Falls in Love” (2013). In “Beloved Eun Dong” (2015) and “Legend of the Blue Sea” (2016), he portrayed the young selves of Joo Jin Mo and Lee Min Ho, leaving a good impression. He also proved his emotional acting by playing the main character in the 2017 melodrama film “A Stray Goat.” In the 2019 fantasy drama “He Is Psychometric”, he transformed into a man with the special ability to read memories, proving his potential as an actor.
Park Jin Young also showcased his versatility as an actor through his roles in “When My Love Blooms” and “The Devil Judge”. He recently starred in the spy action film “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations”, showing an unprecedented wild charm. All of this adds to the curiosity about Park Jin Young’s upcoming performance in “The Witch.”
“The Witch” will be directed by director Kim Tae Gyun of “Dark Figure of Crime” and is currently under discussion to be released through OTT platforms. Filming for “The Witch” will start soon.
