Singer G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong) has finally found a new company.
On the evening of September 30th, G-Dragon posted several selfies on his personal SNS account to reveal his whereabouts without leaving any captions.
One of the seven pictures he posted caught the eyes of netizens. It shows an electronic board with the phrase “WELCOMES G-DRAGON”.
Earlier on the 28th, foreign media reported that G-Dragon joined Warner Music and the male singer had recently visited the office of Warner Music Records in Los Angeles, California.
Later, photos of the electronic board with G-Dragon’s photo and the phrase “WELCOMES G-DRAGON”, similar to the picture uploaded by G-Dragon himself recently, at the office of Warner Music Records spread widely in online communities. Considering the fact that G-Dragon is currently listed among artists of Warner Music Group, netizens believe that G-Dragon has signed with the record label.
G-Dragon announced his plan to make a solo comeback and carry out various activities in January. In May, his name was found missing from the lineup of artists under YG Entertainment’s quarterly performance report in March. This raised rumors of G-Dragon leaving YG after his exclusive contract expired. In this regard, YG stated that their artist’s contract with G-Dragon had ended but they were still cooperating through a separate contract for other activities, such as advertising, adding “We will discuss an additional contract when he resumes music activities”.
It’s already October but G-Dragon’s solo comeback is still undecided. However, if the rumor about his new agency is true, a new album release is expected to be confirmed soon. Attention is focused on the new steps that G-Dragon will take.
