The pre-release track “Set Me Free Pt.2” by BTS Jimin is receiving explosive attention from global media outlets.

According to Billboard, Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2”, which was pre-released on March 17th, ranked No.1 on the survey for “Favorite New Songs” conducted in March.

Billboard News previously covered “Set Me Free Pt.2” as the most anticipated new song. Introducing the song, they stated, “The music video of this track stands out as it features hip-hop beats and autotune vocals accompanied by a magnificent choir as well as spectacular performances”.

In an interview with the U.S. music media “Consequence of Sound”, Jimin said, “I was greatly attracted to this song when making it”, adding “I focused on the performance to bring out the intense feeling of the song, and I also wanted to emphasize ‘Jimin solo’ with an impact.”

He added, “‘Set Me Free’ means freeing myself, so I thought it was important for me, not someone else, to free myself. If people can understand the emotions I’m trying to express, I think it’s a successful album.”

“Consequence of Sound” praised, “Jimin is also equally thoughtful and earnest in reflections about his work. His background in contemporary dance and ballet shaped him into a hypnotic stage presence. His unique vocals stop people in their tracks.

In an article titled “Jimin Is Literal Poetry in Motion in the ‘Set Me Free Pt. 2’ Video”, the global cultural review magazine “Vulture” said, “Jimin is living art, and his latest music video is here to prove it. The video features Cardi B’s BTS bias dancing with Rainer Maria Rilke’s German poem ‘Ich lebe mein leben in wachsenden ringen’ (in English, ‘I live my life in widening circles’) printed on his chest.

Meanwhile, Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2” ranked 30th on Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100” on April 1st, making a new history in K-pop as a solo song without collaborating with famous foreign singers. “Set Me Free Pt.2” is proving its popularity with remarkable achievements such as No.1 in Oricon’s weekly digital single ranking (as of March 27th).
