JYP appears to be attempting to delete all signs of Jinni’s presence in the group as soon as possible.
As of December 14th, many posts related to Jinni, a former member of NMIXX, was deleted from the group’s official SNS, including selcas and concept photos.
Previously, right after announcing Jinni’s departure from the group on December 9th, JYP also deleted Jinni’s photos and profile on platforms such as Bubble, Spotify, JYP website, etc, as well as updated NMIXX as a 6-member group.
It seems that the company is trying to erase the traces of Jinni being a member of the group as quickly as possible, leaving fans heartbroken.
As a result of JYP’s actions, confusion started to spread among fans. In addition, many raise concerns that since JYP never gave a clear explanation for Jinni’s abrupt exit, malicious speculations and rumors will be spread.
Ever since the announcement of Jinni’s departure, NSWER (fandom of NMIXX), have been in great shock. There was no previous signs of her leaving, and she even performed alongside NMIXX at the 2022 MAMA Awards on November 29th.
In addition, Jinni also talked brightly with fan through a paid communication app mere days before her departure. She trained for 7 years under JYP, and even abstained from taking the college entrance exam to focus on group activities. Photos of her was also supposed to be included in the NMIXX’s Season Greeting merchandise.
As Jinni suddenly left, it became inevitable for NMIXX to reorganize as a 6-member group. Their Christmas video content, which was scheduled for release on December 12th, was also cancelled.
Meanwhile, on December 13th, NMIXX had their first official schedule since Jinni left the group. The six members attended 2022 AAA and performed two of the group’s title songs, “DICE” and “O.O”. The JYP’s rookie girl group also receive the New Wave Award.
NMIXX (Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, Kyujin) debuted in February with the single “AD MARE” and title song “O.O”. In September, their 2nd single “ENTWURF” was released alongside the title song “DICE”
