 Somi’s birth father is Douma Matthew, known by fans under the nickname “buff dad”. Douma Matthew has been a famous cameo of several famous Korean dramas such as “Descendants of the Sun”,  “Vagabond” and “Kill Me Heal Me”. Matthew owns a remarkable physique and smooth acting specializing in powerful action scenes propels the plot forward. Somi also invited her father on-set to shoot her MV “XOXO”.

Somi revealed that she bought a house for her parents in Seoul, Korea, stating that: “This was only possible because I debuted at a young age. I have opened a restaurant and bought a house for my parents”.
