Popular girl group NewJeans decorated the cover of US fashion magazine FLAUNT Magazine
On October 26th (local time), FLAUNT Magazine released group photos, individual shoots, and interviews with NewJeans (Minji, Hannie, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein), the cover model for the No.189 issue. The girls exuded a unique atmosphere and showed their presence as a “global rising group”.
Introducing NewJeans, FLAUNT Magazine said, “They are capturing the attention of the world and creating a nostalgic sanctuary with their new genetics of K-pop.” They highlighted NewJeans’s unique discography and the messages the group delivered through their albums, starting with the debut song “Attention” in August last year, the single album “OMG” in January this year and the second mini album “Get Up” in July.
In the interview with FLAUNT Magazine, NewJeans shared, “No matter where you are or where you come from, anyone can connect through music! It expresses emotion and heals people in lots of different ways. Music has the power to create a community and bond people!”, adding “We hope that our music can also have that effect and bring people together from all over the world!”.
Recalling their memory when performing on the stage of the US music festival Lollapalooza Chicago in August, the girl group said, “Lollapalooza was an absolutely amazing experience! Performing there in front of so many people who danced and sang along to our music without any language barrier made us feel so happy and so touched!”, adding “Our first stage in the US remains a very fond memory for all of us!”.
NewJeans continued, “We are focused on what we are capable of showing whilst challenging and enjoying ourselves! We hope we are able to continue strengthening a recognizable sound that people can associate us with, and to continue to share the joy and fun of music and art as much as we enjoy it! Just like how we’ve grown since our debut, we’d love to show you constant growth and progress!”, expressing their determination.
Meanwhile, NewJeans became the K-pop artist with the most nominations at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. The group was nominated for a total of five awards in 4 categories, including Top Billboard Global(Excl. U.S.) Artist, Top Global K-pop Artist, Top Global K-pop Song and Top K-pop Album. In the Top Global K-pop Song category, both “Ditto” and “OMG” were nominated.
