Fans of the Late Jonghyun Leave Comfort Messages at Moonbin’s Memorial Space

ASTRO fans paid their tribute to Moonbin by creating a memorial space, where fans of the late Jonghyun left chocolate and comfort messages.

On April 23rd, photos of chocolates and messages left by fans of the late SHINee’s Jonghyun in the memorial space for Moonbin, who recently passed away, were posted on Twitter.

The fans of Jonghyun wrote, “We are fans of Jonghyun. We are leaving chocolates because we are concerned that some of you might skip a meal. We prepared enough, so please take a piece and enjoy it. If the sunlight comes in, please move it to the shade.” They left comforting messages for the fans who came to pay their respects to Moonbin.

Netizens who saw the photos commented, “It makes me cry because we understand each other’s feelings,” “I can imagine how much more concerned they must be since they went through it first,” “It’s nice to see fans comforting each other, but it’s also sad and touching.”

Jonghyun, born on April 8, 1990, debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 and gained popularity with hit songs such as “Replay,” “Juliette,” “Ring Ding Dong,” “Lucifer,” “Sherlock,” “Dream Girl,” “Everybody,” “View,” and “1 of 1.”

He also received love for his solo songs, such as “End of a Day,” “1000,” “Lonely,” and “Shinin.” However, he shocked his fans by suddenly passing away on December 18, 2017.

Moonbin, born in 1998, started working as a child model and made his official debut in the entertainment industry as an actor in the KBS 2TV drama “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009. He debuted as a member of ASTRO in 2016.

In addition to his singing career, Moonbin also appeared in variety shows such as “SNL Korea,” and actively promoted his third mini album “In-Out” with fellow member Sanha, which was released in January.

However, on April 19th, he was found dead in his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 8:10 p.m., causing sorrow to many. The funeral and burial were held privately on the 22nd, according to the wishes of his family.
