Fans appreciate TWICE’s Momo as she gave her best in US tour performances despite dealing with a head injury 

Other members of TWICE were worried sick about Momo’s injury, but she still performed as if nothing happened. 

TWICE‘s US tour wrapped up on February 27 with their second night performing at the USB Arena in NYC. The members treated fans to an astounding show. However, an accident actually happened backstage during the show. In the live broadcast after the concert ended, it was revealed that Momo hit her head before the girls went on stage to perform “SCIENTIST“. 

Momo said there is a low barrier installed near where the members change, so they often have to crouch and be careful not to get hurt when moving around backstage. But because Momo got so excited about how well TWICE’s last performance went that she forgot to bend down. As a result, she hit her forehead against a large pillar.

Momo also bit her tongue so hard that it bled when she hit her head. She was so shaken after the injury that she burst into tears and thought her mind was going blank. Momo said, “I was in a state where I thought I was going to lose my memory, so I went to Jeongyeon and cried ‘What should I do?'”.

Momo was in pain but she still went on stage to perform “SCIENTIST” with other members. TWICE‘s main dancer said, “My eyes really could not concentrate. I thought ‘What should I do?’ while shedding tears”.

Jeongyeon said that Momo still nailed the performance despite suffering from the injury. Nayeon added that all the members were in a hurry before performing “SCIENTIST” because they didn’t have much time to change their outfits, so anyone could have been in the same situation as Momo.

After Momo got hurt, all the members were extremely worried.  Chaeyoung said she was so worried about Momo that she forgot the lyrics to “SCIENTIST“, “I was thinking about you. When I was supposed to sing ‘If you’re gonna give up in the middle’, I was busy looking at you, so I sang ‘in the middle’ instead”. Mina also revealed she made mistakes with the choreography because she was looking at Momo during the performance.

The impact of her head injury was so serious that according to Momo, she did not remember performing “SCIENTIST” after the concert at all.  

This is not the first time Momo has dealt with a head injury. TWICE‘s main dancer once told a story on Knowing Bros that when she was in elementary school, her friend pushed her against the wall so hard that her head was bleeding. After what happened, Momo‘s grades began to decrease and her English skills got worse. 

If Momo hadn’t told fans that she was hit in the head in the live broadcast, ONCE would not have noticed she was injured because Momo was dancing and singing as if nothing happened. This shows how professional and dedicated she is. And how concerned TWICE members were of Momo is truly heartwarming.
