“Emergency decree” issued in face of ticket fraud ramifications in upcoming BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” concert

BLACKPINK’s concert organizers recently issued an emergency notice about the rise of ticket scamming.

Recently, news of ticket scamming at BLACKPINK’s concert in Southeast Asia is buzzing on social media. The situation started when a 23-year-old female bought an original concert worth 76 USD for 85 USD. After she made the transaction, the seller blocked her.

A Korean named Kim Ah In (age 22) was also scammed when she tried to buy a ticket for the concert through social media. She bought a ticket worth 51 USD for 63 USD and was blocked after. She affirmed that her 10 friends were also scammed.

Many Koreans, along with citizens of the city where the next BLACKPINK concert was held, were blocked after making a transaction

An “emergency decree” is issued, stating that buyers should check the legitimacy of websites before transferring money to buy tickets. Scamming methods have become more sophisticated as phishing sites are created with a slight domain change from the official site address and imitated the official web design.

Ticketbox – an official ticket distributor – also posted a warning about the existence of fake websites. To protect buyers from risks while engaging in reselling of and buying tickets on the “black market,” the ticket distributor along with the organizer of the “BORN PINK” concert in the upcoming destination stopped selling tickets on July 15.
