Seeing the success Rosé is getting now, fans think she made the right decision to quit school.

Recently, the education level of BLACKPINK’s Rosé once again became a topic of discussion among netizens. Some anti-fans use the fact that Rosé did not finish high school to criticize her and claim that she does not deserve to be an idol and role model of young fans. However, looking at the enviable life and career Rosé is having right now, fans and netizens think she made the right decision to leave school and follow her dream.

Rosé talked about dropping out of school in Australia to pursue her dream

Back in 2012, when Rosé was only 16, YG was scouting trainees in Sydney, so her father, knowing how much his daughter loves singing, encouraged her to sign up for the audition. Rosé was later torn between continuing her studies in Australia and flying to Korea to become a trainee. This is something she never considered before, and of course, when she made up her mind about quitting school, everyone around her was in shock.

In a past interview with Vogue Australia, Rosé talked about what it was like when she had to make such a difficult decision, “I decided to drop out of school and all my teachers and friends were like: ‘What? Why are you leaving?’ Nobody knew what K-pop was, so nobody understood where I was going. It was terrifying. I was quite a good student. I never thought I would drop out of school.”

“Everything makes sense when I sing. I’m just an ordinary person like everyone else. So if people think you are not worthy and can’t overcome the barriers that prevent you from achieving your dreams, just believe in what you like.”

Many netizens find it regrettable that Rosé could not finish high school. But there are also netizens who understand and admire Rosé’s courageous decision to leave school and fulfill her dream. Thanks to that, Rosé is enjoying a desirable life as a globally famous artist and public figure.

  • Her current success is worth that trade-off
  • She dropped out of high school but she had a clear direction for her career, what’s wrong with that?
  • If I could quit school and live like Rosé now, I’d give it up

Rosé was born in New Zealand but moved to Australia when she was 8 years old. She attended Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College in Melbourne. In 2012, Rosé was accepted into YG. She came to Korea alone and began her trainee life and journey to become a K-pop idol.

After her official debut in 2016, Rosé quickly shot to global fame as a member of BLACKPINK – a worldwide famous girl group. Although BLACKPINK has not made frequent comebacks in the last 5 years, every song they released became a massive hit, such as Boombayah, Playing With Fire, As If It’s Your Last, DDU-DU DDU-DU, Kill This Love, How You Like That…
