“Doctor Cha” Uhm Jung Hwa reveals how she feels about the ending of the medical drama in four words
Actress Uhm Jung Hwa gave a surprising spoiler into the ending of “Doctor Cha”.
On May 20th, “Doctor Cha” star Uhm Jung Hwa appeared as a guest on an interview for JTBC’s “News Room”. On this day, Uhm Jung Hwa received a question about her awareness of the drama’s rising popularity.
In response, Uhm Jung Hwa replied, “I am receiving a lot of greetings that I saw [the drama performing] very well,” adding, “I am so curious about the reactions. I’m so grateful and happy [that viewers are enjoying the drama],” the actress said with a smile.
“I watch the show at home. There are times when the cast gets together and watches. As the drama continues to be well-received and loved, we watch it together every week and our common chat rooms are active”, she added.
As for the secret of popularity, Uhm Jung Hwa cited “sympathy”. “I think they are very curious about Doctor Cha’s growth journey and rooting for her”, adding, “[The audience] sympathizes with her, cries and smiles [with her].” These shared feelings brought the viewers together.
The medical drama is halfway through, with episode 10th recently released on May 14th. When the anchor asked whether the actress was satisfied with the ending, Uhm Jung Hwa replied sharply, “I totally like it”.
Currently, “Doctor Cha” is a high-rated medical drama about the life of Cha Jung Sook, a devoted housewife resuming her medical career after a family crisis. With the latest episode, the series racked up a 17.9% rating, breaking its own previous set record.
