Davichi held their 2026 solo concert titled “TIME CAPSULE: Connecting Time” on January 24 and 25 at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul. During the opening segment of the performance, illusionist Lee Eun-gyeol walked through the audience distributing business cards as part of a staged production.
The cards featured phrases such as “Do you know about the time capsule?” and “If you want to connect time, call now,” along with a phone number created by combining Davichi’s debut year. However, it was later confirmed that the number belonged to an actual individual. As some fans attempted to call the number, the rightful owner reportedly received unwanted calls, leading to complaints and raising concerns over privacy and harm caused by the unintended exposure.

In response, Davichi’s agency, CAM With Us, issued a statement via its official social media account on January 27. The agency clarified that the number was used solely for performance production purposes and was not intended as a real contact number. The agency also urged fans to refrain from calling the number, stating that the actual owner had already suffered from contact-related inconvenience.
This incident follows similar cases in the entertainment industry. In 2021, Netflix’s hit series “Squid Game” faced controversy after a phone number shown on a business card within the show was linked to a real individual. Some viewers attempted to call the number by adding “010,” South Korea’s mobile prefix, resulting in repeated disturbances to the number’s owner. At the time, the production team stated they were in continuous communication with the affected individual to resolve the issue.
A similar situation occurred in November last year during Cha Eun-woo’s album promotion. His agency, Fantagio, launched an event in which calling a specific “070” number played a prerecorded message recorded by Cha Eun-woo before his military enlistment. However, some users mistakenly dialed incorrect numbers, leading to calls being misdirected to unrelated recipients. Fantagio later issued an apology, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by incorrect dialing during the event.
The controversy surrounding Davichi’s concert highlights recurring concerns over the use of realistic phone numbers in entertainment productions. As similar incidents continue to surface across music, television, and promotional campaigns, calls for stricter precautions and verification measures are growing to prevent unintended harm to private individuals.
