Almost 3 decades later, his record has yet to be broken.
When he was only 17, Hong Kyung In took on the lead role in the 1992 movie “Our Twisted Hero”. Even at such a young age during his mid-teens, he emerged as one of the best rising actors in Chungmuro with his excellent acting.
Later, he continued to deliver brilliant performances through supporting roles in dramas such as “Sandglass” and “Our Sunny Days of Youth”. He drew the most praise for his portrayal of a character with mental retardation in “Our Sunny Days of Youth”.
In 1995, he took home the Best Actor Award at the age of 19 at the Chunsa Film Art Awards for his passionate performance in the docudrama film “A Single Spark” about the life of a labor activist Jeon Tae Il. This achievement made Hong Kyung In the youngest actor ever to win Best Actor in Korean film history, and even now, 27 years later, this record has not been broken.
In 1996, Hong Kyung In starred in MBC’s popular sitcom “Three Guys and Three Girls” and showed off his ability to act in a comedy. Since then, he has continued to expand his scope of activities to theater and musical stages.
Last year, Hong Kyung In reported that he was reviewing a casting offer for the lead role in a Hollywood thriller movie. The production company was impressed by his acting when he was a child actor so they sent him a love call!
Updates on the filming process have not yet been revealed since then but many people believe that another heyday will come in the acting career of Hong Kyung In, who has proved his solid acting skills through various works for a long time.
